Onboarding An Editing Client
Stage One
When you commit to working with me on an editing project, a lot of the work is already done in the consultation phase.

- Precise scope of work
- Project fee
- Expected final deliverables
The proposal, project fee, and contract agreements are signed by both parties at least 72 hours prior to the project’s scheduled start date. The invoice’s first installment must be settled at least 48 hours prior to the project’s scheduled start date. The formatted manuscript must be delivered at least 24 hours prior to the project’s scheduled start date.
Each client has their own secure Client Portal, activated during the consultation phase. You have open access to any email communication and video appointments as well as the proposal agreement, invoice, project fee agreement, and contract agreement.

I have unique processes for each service type, automated through my project management system. Depending on the expected timeframe and the difficulty of the text, each process is adjusted to ensure I can prioritize as needed and stay in communication regarding any questions or needed clarifications.
My direct-labor hours (where I work on your project and only your project) are set for the afternoons and early evenings. I pace myself to not only ensure I can give your project the focus it deserves, but so that I also have time for any work stoppages that may occur due to waiting for clarification, tighter-deadline projects, and those days where self-care takes top priority.
Final deliverables will be available both on your Client Portal (as Adobe Acrobat PDF files) and via email (as Microsoft Word documents). They will be sent no later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern on the scheduled project end date.
